Michael has been in the commercial painting Industry for more than 35 years, starting out in his father’s company. He learned his way around the business by working as a truck driver, in the warehouse, in accounting, and eventually in sales. He’s extremely proud of Paintsmiths’ outstanding customer retention, and he’s fond of saying, “Once you’re a PSMO customer, you are a customer for life.”
Michael loves spending time with his wife and daughter. He and his wife are active and enjoy working out together with a personal trainer. He also bowls in a few leagues and plays a monthly spades game with a mix of his nine siblings and special invitees. If you beat him in spades, you get to be photographed with his, “I beat Michael” sign.
John Gannon, Sr.
John started out in the painting industry in 1980 as a business owner himself. He’s performed every role in the business. Since he retired from his own company, John has served for the past three years as an outside estimator with PSMO, bringing some of his best customers and employees to PSMO with him! John believes that business at Paintsmiths has stayed constant over the years because customer satisfaction was and is number one.
His favorite part of the job is payday (of course!) and meeting up with other painting colleagues at the VFW. One of John’s favorite hobbies is working on house projects with his grandkids. He’s an active member of Knights of Columbus and St. Martin De Porres’ Men’s Club. John is also a cancer survivor!
Mary has worked with PaintSmiths for 25 years – 20 with PaintSmiths of Missouri and five with Paintsmiths of St. Louis). Mary wears a lot of hats, and we don’t know what we’d do without her: She’s our office manager, accountant and payroll manager. She says the favorite part of her job is working with a great team of all-male co-workers!
Although her favorite coworkers may be Michael’s two dogs who are in the office every day. Mary is also a committed CrossFit athlete who trains several times a week.
